Sam Rotolo has been a digital artist since the 1980s. Early digital software was very crude but Sam saw the future of this new technology and began to apply his art training to vector graphics, raster graphics, paint applications and animation.

 

As these various applications matured Sam's knowledge grew with them, he is now  a beta tester for many different software manufacturers and a certified Adobe artist.

 

For the last several years Sam has been increasing his remote support for customers around the Nation, he currently has studios in Virginia and North Carolina.

Sam Rotolo has over 35 years of Multimedia/Graphic and Project Management experience both in Government and public sector venues. His broad experience and well-rounded background demonstrates his abilities to provide professionally designed and executed concept art and graphics.

Mr. Rotolo's proposal graphic experience is extensive, having worked on over 65 competitive proposals serving as a conceptual designer, lead artist and/or in supporting graphic artist and desk-top-publishing capacities.

 

This experience includes:

Professional portrait photos for proposal organizational charts and performs photo editing (i.e. digital lighting and shadows, teeth whitening, completion touch up and color correction etc.), Video productions (SD/HD), Animations (2D and 3D), CD and DVD (SD/HD Blue Ray) authoring, photo simulations, Earned Value Project Management utilizing MS Project and Primavera. Complete product knowledge of all phases of video and graphics production as applied to the design, setup and installation of graphic and video hardware and workflow. Complete product knowledge of the Adobe suite of graphic applications including the CC 2014 Master Collection, Autodesk AutoCAD, 3DSMax, Maya, Softimage, DAZ, and compositing applications (i.e. Combustion, After Effects, Mocha and sculpting applications such as Mudbox and ZBrush). Mr. Rotolo often sits with subject matter experts with his sketch pad or sketching software to create custom concept art for proposals and other projects.

 

As a team member, Mr. Rotolo is often called upon to perform other tasks related to the project. (i.e. desktop publishing, schedule creation or editing with two of the leading scheduling packages: Primavera and Microsoft Project). Additionally Mr. Rotolo understands these applications and to set the data schema so that secondary applications can perform analysis such as Monte Carlo.

 

He also has added to his list of products the ability to print in 3D and has created the first 3D proposal cover by printing a 3D item on the cover, airbrushing it to match the graphics and vacuum packed it under the binder vinyl.

 

Prior to his current work, Mr. Rotolo worked as a project schedule consultant to AT&T on the Federal Telecommunications System 2000 (FTS2000). He created the program master integrated schedule of over 5000 activities.

Smith Industries (Lear Seiglar) as a software engineer on such projects as the F-14, F-18, A-6, and Blackhawk Stores Management System (SMS) – the weapons inventory and management system aboard aircraft.

 

Mr. Rotolo has also been the Project Manager on such high profile efforts such as the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS), the Army Computer Aided Logistic System (ACALS) and many more.

 

In the early 80’s, Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) was introduced in the marketplace. This is a computer program designed to play digital instruments such as synthesizers and pianos. As a musician, as well as a computer programmer, Mr. Rotolo embarked upon the effort to understand and master this new technology. The next digital frontier to be conquered was computer-generated animations. He now can offer 2D and 3D animations as products and can incorporate them into most TV commercials.

In this ever changing digital art world, continuing education is the philosophy of Mr. Rotolo. This personal growth is evident in the fresh, complex art he continues to produce for clients such as AT&T, Sprint, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, TASC, Lockheed Martin, CNN, DOJ, DEA, Discovery Channel and many others.
